The Full Story

Our Floats

HDPE (High-Density Polyethylene) pipe is a flexible,  and corrosion-resistant piping material widely used in various industries.  It is environmentally friendly and makes for great dock floats due to it buoyancy and durability.  We sell our foam free floats individually  for many types of uses and we can combine rows for extra weight capacity.

Why HDPE?

  • Durability: Highly resistant to impact, cracking, and wear.

  • Flexibility: Can bend without breaking

  • Corrosion & Chemical Resistance: Does not rust or corrode like metal pipes and withstands many chemicals.

  • Leak-Free Joints: Uses heat fusion welding instead of mechanical joints, reducing the risk of leaks.

  • Lightweight & Easy to Install: Easier to transport and install than metal or concrete pipes.

  • Longevity: Typically lasts 50-100 years, depending on application and environment.

  • Low Maintenance: Requires minimal upkeep.

Say No to Foam

Pollution from Foam Breakdown

Erosion & Fragmentation: Over time, foam used in floating docks (such as expanded polystyrene (EPS) or polyurethane) breaks down due to exposure to sunlight, water, and physical damage. These fragments become microplastics, which contaminate waterways and harm aquatic ecosystems.

Difficult to Clean Up: Once foam starts breaking apart, small pieces can spread over large areas, making cleanup nearly impossible.

Toxic Chemical Leaching

Many foam products contain harmful chemicals, including fire retardants and adhesives, that can leach into the water.

Harm to Wildlife

Fish and Birds Ingestion: Marine animals, birds, and fish often mistake foam particles for food, leading to blockages, malnutrition, or poisoning.

Habitat Destruction: As foam degrades, it alters the natural habitat, affecting food sources and breeding grounds for aquatic species.

Short Lifespan & Waste Issues

Foam docks deteriorate quickly compared to more sustainable materials, leading to frequent replacements and more waste in landfills.

Disposed foam is non-biodegradable and lingers in the environment indefinitely.
